What Can the U.S. Learn from the Japanese Health Care System?

I wanted to continue my discussion on the Japanese health care philosophy a bit more because it teaches us a valuable lesson. In Japan the smoking and drinking rates are higher than in the U.S. but they are healthier. That doesn’t make sense, but it does when you look at how they use health care.

In Japan, technology (very expensive) is used only to diagnose. The care is left up to the family members. People are cared for at home. There is something to be said about loving relatives happy to be there in the comfort of one’s home with good home cooking and probably natural remedies.

This makes a lot of sense to Vital Aging Enthusiasts who understand a hospital stay doesn’t make you healthy. It gets you out of a crisis situation but the “homework” done upon discharge is what leads to a recovery and impacts your future health.

Lifestyle counts and it takes a decision along with a desire to take the necessary action to keep it in balance. The best part is….once someone’s been in a routine it really is fun. It feels good to take charge of your health.

This is how Vital Aging works. You are the leader, and the army of your own health. The Vital Aging Protocol is very simple to implement, needs no doctors orders, and you do it everyday. You can teach it to yourself with my 12 week home study course. It’s about taking charge with information that will empower you.

Here is the Japanese vs. U.S. health care article.   I hope it inspires you and convinces you that you have a lot of control over your health.

Which Disease Camp Should Get More?

The Associated Press published a story about cancer being the costliest disease.  The interesting part is the mention of the amount of money allocated for disease causes such as prevention.  More money is spent on contagious diseases and the “sibling rivalry” continues.

A different take on the whole disease-money spectrum is this: since the disease process is basically the same, why don’t we concentrate on building up the body.  Fragmenting ourselves by having thousands of organizations focused on specific diseases has not really made a dent in life saving.  Cancer is one example; it is still the leading cause of death.  But wait a minute, if you go to the CDC website, heart disease is the number one cause of death in the U.S.  Maybe we are spending too much on cancer in the U.S.

Let’s get back to Vital Aging.

The AP article said cancer hits people when they are young, but heart disease is common in the older population.  Isn’t the prevention advice the same for both?  We’re told to eat more fruits and vegetables, avoid processed foods and exercise.

Let’s look at the Japanese health system.  Smoking and drinking rates are higher in Japan than in the U.S. but they are still healthier.   Their philosophy is much different, however.  The Japanese rely on technology for diagnosising and measuring progress.  Their treatment protocols are more hands on: meaning natural and in the home with family being the care givers.  In the U.S. we not only apply technology for diagnosing but for treating, as well.  It has not turned out to be as useful for us.

Good old fashioned prevention practices are better for us.  And science is proving it!  That is why the Vital Aging Protocol is  cutting edge and affordable.

Since home care is so much better than institutionalized care, I am bringing Vital Aging to your home:

Vital Aging: The Science of Living

Epigenetics & Degenerative Disease

The new field of “epigenetics” is rapidly revealing how people, plants and animals do start with a certain genetic code at conception. But, the choice of which genes are “expressed,” or activated, is strongly affected by environmental influences. The expression of genes can change quite rapidly over time, they can be influenced by external factors, those changes can be passed along to offspring, and they can literally hold the key to life and death.

This excerpt from Biology News shows how promising the field of anti-aging medicine can influence how we make life style desicions.  The remainder of the article discussed the new line of cacner drugs that wake up tumor supressors in the body.  It was also briefly mentioned certain foods  do the same thing.

Vital aging is a natural and affordable approach that surpasses the general idea of prevention for lengevity.  Vital aging is specific to DNA promotion for a healthier life.

Mercury, Aging, and Inability to Fight Disease

Anything that slows us down is causing unhealthy aging.  I say unhealthy aging because we will all age.  I just prefer it to be Vital Aging.  As I was looking for more articles on growth hormone I came across this interview Suzanne Somers did with Dr. Galitzer and the mention of mercury caught my attention.

Suzanne Somers: Why do we lose energy as we age? Where does it go?

Dr. Michael Galitzer: It’s spiritual and physical. Physically we are exposed to way too many toxins from the environment. We are exposed to heavy metals; lead, cadmium, mercury, from both the environment and leakage from silver-amalgam dental fillings. This exposure is a major, major problem. As an example, I saw a patient, who, two years ago, had accidentally swallowed a mercury filling while eating, and about a year later he started having rectal bleeding. His doctors didn’t know what was wrong with him. They finally had to take him to the operating room, and when they opened him up there was this huge cancer in the small intestine, and inside the cancer was the mercury filling. Mercury is the number one toxin, even more significant than lead. As a society we are inundated with heavy metals, and it’s making us sick. In anti-aging medicine we work to detoxify the body of these heavy metals.

Exposure to toxins and then getting them trapped in the body is a huge problem that creates health issues.  The problem is we can treat the health concern but the toxin is not released so a person’s health will just get worse.

The Vital Aging Protocol is based on the science of aging.  If our bodies are breaking down, we cannot self heal from disease.  And that means any disease.

Toxins throwing hormones off  track is one reason we age in an unhealthy manner as Dr. Galitzer continues:

Dr. Michael Galitzer: Well as I see it it’s like a basketball game. The 6 players on the team are testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, pancreas, thyroid and adrenal. My job is getting those players to play well together. That’s the key. That’s the art form.

Did you know nutritional cleansing is a very effective and inexpensive way to detox?  Learn more about it with the Vital Aging Protocol.

The Science of Living vs. the Science of Dying

Vital Aging is described as a new health science because there is a need for something that is uplifting.  Epigenetics is showing  the cell changes according to the mental attention it is given.  Most health care is always looking for the evil-disease.  It is bad, it must be stopped.  This is where drugs come in.  Alhough, we  are seeing drugs for the healthy.  The idea is to give drugs to people earlier so profits can increase.  There is still the expectation that the body will fail.

Vital aging has the full assumption that the body will thrive when the enviroment is suitable.  If the environment is not suitable, we will change it, on the inside and the outside.

Is the science of dying “alive and well?”  Look back at all the controversial doctors and scientists who were attacked, poisoned, careers ruined, research stolen and burned.  This is an embarrassment to human kind.   Not to get off track, but the lack of information keeps us confined with limited choices.  We must still engage in diverse ideas, especially if they are more natural and based on nurturing rather than intervening.

Vital aging is a choice that is not controversial, based on science, and affordable.  But it must first start with a decision to put things in perspective.  We must choose activities that help us live rather than help us die.  That means every choice we make from the time we get up in the morning until we go to bed makes a real impact in our lives.

Human Growth Hormone: All Natural and Costs Nothing

Human growth hormone drops dramatically past age 30 but it doesn’t have to as long as we refrain from sedentary lifestyles.  Adequate exercise will increase growth hormone levels.

Dr. Mercola talks about this in one of his e-newsletter about peak fitness.  It is the secret to breaking the dreaded plateau.

http://fitness.mercola.com/sites/fitness/archive/2010/06/26/10-minutes-of-exercise-yields-hourlong-effects.aspx

Vital Aging Tips:

  • As always, fuel properly.  It is disastrous to exercise without proper nutrition.
  • Keep up your chiropractic adjusting schedule so injuries are prevented and the nervous system stays at its peak as well.  We don’t want to exercise on misaligned joints.

Telomeres Tell Me to Move

Exercise helps the DNA stay healthy and slow the aging process.  This article low bediscuses a recent study showing telomeres don’t shorten as much when someone is active.

http://www.naturalnews.com/027755_telomeres_anti-aging.html

The problem is people are unprepared to begin an exercise program.  exercising on fixated joints increases arthritis damage.  Exercising when someone isn’t fueling correctly also increases damage, making work outs uncomfortable.  A sure recipe that leads to quitting.  Nutritional deficiencies are very common and short changing nutrient level will not help a work out program.  Chiropractic care will help someone prepare properly.

Vital Aging: Chiropractic’s Ultimate Goal

Everyone goes to the chiropractor for different reasons, after all we eaily focus on their situation at the moment.  Whether someone has back pain, a head ache or fibromylagia, they are dealing with the quieter forms of the aging process.

No one really makes that connection because getting through the day and getting out of pain is the immediate need.  Every time the nervous system is reacting to a stressful situation, the body is being depleted of healing energy.

How we replenish that energy will impact if we stay vital and active as we age.

An article posted earlier this year stresses that learning how the body ages is more informative than trying studying a disease.  Well, there are so many diseases, there are too many to study. Learning how the body regulates itself is the smarter way to spend the research money.

http://www.naturalnews.com/027929_Alzheimers_anti-aging.html

In the chiropractic world, we are always looking at the relationship between the nervous system and how it is communicating with the body.  Namely, the immune system  works according to nervous system input.  Chiropractic doesn’t have to be limited to active pain, the nervous system is always on duty.
